Body, Mind and spirit…left on the gym floor

I remember my first photoshoot, more than 10 years ago, starting with the sunrise and ending with the midnight hour.  My adrenaline rush was high, I was out of shape, and I kept pushing myself both physically and mentally to get as much as I could during the day planned.  The following day my whole body was in pain, shaking and I felt so swollen.  If I didn’t know better, I’d say I was beaten in my sleep :)

That long yet meaningful day has changed my train of thought as to what it means to be healthy.  I was struggling with my health and I felt so lost.  I realized that in my youth I had no strength, no agility and definitely no endurance.  A few short years later I stepped into a gym once again (many attempts without consistency were made) and this time I stayed the track.  I fell in love with the fitness world.  Admired the competitive edge that these disciplined athletes had to achieve their goals. I followed suit and hired my very own trainer.   I soon started working with athletes I met and lensed the pure results of their blood, sweat and tears left on that gym floor.  To this day you will find me at the gym leaving each day’s stress on that floor.  I gained strength, agility, and endurance that I didn’t think was possible for someone like me.  My camera and I no longer have limitations as to how long I can shoot without trembling the next day.  Health has a new image and I recommend it to all.  Go sweat!

Now here in beautiful British Columbia,  I had the wonderful opportunity to work with a friend who I have watched transform herself in less than 2 short years.  The incredible dedication to this sport has paid off for her and am so proud to see her on the competition floor soon.
